design letter

Omnite k asked Scope Design for a new design for the S-flow viscosity meter . T egelijkertijd worked by Omnitek a technical upgrade of the machine itself. The S-flow needed a contemporary appearance, matching the design language of other laboratory equipment in the petrochemical industry. The desire was a compact device m et all of the features and elements ge ï ntegreer d, such as the touch screen, the oil tank, and the pressure gauge. The maintenance of the S-flow should also be simple and without displacement possible. The existing touchscreen had to be modernized and, together with a new housing, to give the instrument a high end look .

The approach of the project

Scope Design started the process with research into the construction and functions of the existing machine and overall operation of a viscosity meter. There fieldwork was done in laboratories where the machine is used and interviews were held with technicians. At the same time there was a substantive brainstorming session with the internal team of Omnite k , who were working on the update of the instrument.

THE DESIGN RESULT

The new S-Flow has become a compact and visually balanced product. By ensuring integration of all parts and functions in the instrument, Scope Design was able to develop a total design for the exterior. And this integration also made it possible to create a more tidy and organized workplace in the laboratory.

The 12-inch screen to operate with the S-Flow, immediately catches the eye. In addition to the touchscreen , the concept of the associated graphical user interface was also designed by Scope Design .

By using different colors to indicate the different sections (liquid tank, electronic components etc.), The use of the machine were simpler. The glass bottles are integrated in the machine and yet kept visible .

The machine was introduced at the PEFTEK fair in Rotterdam and Omnite k immediately received purchase orders .
